It's time again for the annual Cub Fly. Since 2014, the Sunchasers has hosted this gathering to honor "the Great Yellow Bird". All scales and all versions of Cubs are welcome. That includes J3, J2, L4, Super Cub, etc. If it even kind of looks like a Cub, then it qualifies!
All power systems - electric, gas, nitro, even rubber free flight are welcome.
This is a very relaxed, fun day spent with other Cub fans. Although it is not an official contest, there will be several very nice awards given for Best J3, Best Super Cub and Best Scale. These awards will be awarded based on pilots choice.
One of the highlights is the mass fly where we launch as many Cubs as possible in the pattern. It's probably the slowest mass fly you'll ever see!
The Sunchasers Field is one of the most beautiful in the midwest. Located 8 miles due east of KCI airport, it features a 700 foot grass runway, plenty of pits and and a shelter. It's recommended to bring your shade tent. Overnight camping is allowed, but there are no services.
We've kept the landing fee to a bare minimum - only $5! That's just enough to buy pizza for everyone at lunchtime.
